Running Stanley’s
Posted on September 30, 2009
I got a chance to talk with the man in charge at Stanley’s Kitchen and Tap last week. Jack Binyon has been involved with a number of bars and restaurants around the city. He has been in the business since before the Jordan days in Chicago and his family has been selling food, beer and spirits here since before the great depression when his father won his first restaurant in a game of backgammon.

Sounds as if Jack has the magic touch in a tough business. I wonder how he does it. Also, hearing his story about underpants-man falling on the canopy, I’m sure he has more. Maybe you can fish them out of him at a later date.

This interview could easily have lasted another hour. Jack has got a million stories to tell.

Thanks Buddy,
It’s good to hear from you on the site. I still have some of the great audio from you about the MMA. It’s been a while since your preview http://northandclark.net/2009/05/ufc-98-podcast-preview/

Finally catching up on reading my blogs and am glad I got around to it. This place looks like it has an awesome menu for both my wife and I (both picky in our own ways), it’s on the list of places to try.

It’s a fun place and well run. Did you get to listen to the interview?

Oh yes, dug the fellow’s stories and the history he, quite literally, brings to the dining table makes me even more ready to try their menu. :)
